Do young rooster get more vocal aside from crowing? Like making various other new noises?

Also, at what age does a Silkie rooster usually start crowing? Are they slower to crow than other breeds?

Thanks everybody!

I wouldn't say more vocal. They have different sounds when there's danger, if there's food, if something spooked him and he's unsure if it's a threat or not...but hens also have different sounds as well for different things, some hens have even been known to crow. As for silkies, they can start crowing anywhere from 2 mths old to a year old, average being 4-5 months.

OK, thanks. Today my adolescent roos were all trying to crow, but one was also making other noises I never heard him make. My group of Silkies are still quiet but a few weeks older than the crowers. Was hoping the Silks would end up hens, against all odds, lol.
