Hi everyone!
First time chicken owner here. I currently have 5 hens who are just starting to lay. I know that 2 are for sure laying. But possibly 3???? My first laying hen (cooper maran) was laying medium brown eggs. Cool. Then I got my first blue egg from my Easter egger. AWESOME! But today, I went in and saw an egg with a more green hue to it? Only laid 2 days apart. To my knowledge, egg shell color can’t vary that much?
My 5 hens are 1 Easter egger (white/grey), 1 cooper maran (black), 1 Russian Orloff (white/brown), and 2 partridge rocks (brown). From my research, my Easter egger is the only one who shouldn’t be laying a brown egg.
Any suggestions if is my Easter egger just producing a variance in color? Or if one of my other birds is an imposter and laying a non brown egg???
