Sand in run

I had my run cleaned out of all old bedding - I had concrete sand put in its place. It was just put in yesterday (after a heavy rain) - it’s still wet, hard and not really drying on the surface. I thought I was doing the right thing and now a day later I’m questioning myself 😩 - I thought it would be easier to scoop poop. Picture attached. Input is appreciated. Praying I don’t need to remove it.

Sand works best in dry, desert type climates.
Can you show the whole run?

I swear by coarse wood chippings, never scoop anything, just add more as needed.
Thanks for the reply! I had wood chips and just felt that it was too difficult to keep clean, their feet were always filthy, it was gross.

Here’s my setup. Right now it is wrapped in plastic. I put the sand in the covered run, and under the raised portion of the coop.
