Scaly Leg Mites or Injury?

I have 3 roosters that have a lot of scabs on their feet. 2 are 1.5 years old and the other is about 9 months old. The 2 older ones are a turken and a mutt. The younger one is a mutt too. A few months ago I noticed scabs on the turken, but they were small. I thought he had gotten hurt. They stayed the same, but have gotten worse the last few weeks. I had the younger roo in with him for a few weeks. Then, I moved him in with the other mutt (his dad) and the hens. They get along really well. I noticed right after I put the younger one in that he had the same scabs on both of his feet like the first roo. This morning I noticed that the other roo has some scabs on one of his feet. I could only get pictures of the turken and the younger mutt. Do you think it is scaly leg mites or an injury? If it is SCM how should I treat it? It's so cold now that water freezes in seconds. Yesterday I was only outside for a few minutes and one of my eyes got frozen shut. If I put anything on their legs it would freeze to them and do more harm than good.

I smothered their legs in Vaseline a few weeks ago. Since then, the youngest roo's feet have gotten a little better. The turken's have gotten worse though. The turken also has a nasty toe nail. His toe was hurt when he got into a fight and now the nail grows really weird. I was looking at it 2 weeks ago and half of the nail was really dark. I trimmed ¼ inch off and it didn't bleed. It looked like there was a yellow ring inside the nail. I wish I would have gotten a picture. Any ideas on what that could be?
