I weighed my 5 serama chicks (4 pullets and a cockerel) today. There were originally 8 chicks but I rehomed 3 white ones. I didn't want to have to give them daily baths.

My first serama that I ever hatched that made it past the first week. The brownish one that I hatched in 2021 and a mottled one in 2011 did not live past a few days.

She was also the only chick from this hatch that hatched on April 5th (Day 18 as they were set on March 18th). She weighs 142 grams or 5 ounces. She was almost all black at hatch.

Mottled frizzled pullet hatched on April 6th in the AM. She weighs 137 grams or 4.8 ounces.

The 3rd chick that hatched, on April 6th. She was yellow with stripes. She weighs 110 grams or 3.9 ounces.

The youngest pullet looked like she might turn out to be blue mottled but am unsure at the moment. She hatched April 7th around 6 AM. She weighs 107 grams or 3.75 oz.

I forgot to weigh him in grams but in ounces he is 4 ounces. He is the youngest out of these 5 and hatched on April 7th at 7:48 AM. He is the brother of the first 3 pullets so I am hoping to get a pullet out of him and the last pullet if I can keep him until I can't anymore due to his crowing (when they are about 7 months depending on how loud his crow will be- I kept my silver blue OEGB cockerel with a no crow collar until he was about 6 months old then rehomed him with a silver blue pullet, a splash and a blue pullet.

They look nice I haven't weighed my Seramas yet but my chicks that hatched from shipped eggs turned out well only 2 ended up being hens out of 6 so im gonna keep them and the frizzle cockerel.

Took new weights today and the chicks went outside for the first time at 2 months old when I was cleaning their aquarium.

Not sure why I said 2 months last time, they didn’t turn 2 months old until today. These are their pictures and weights from today.

Brown red smooth pullet - 298 grams or 10.5 ounces. She actually turned 2 months old on the 5th.

Thank you! They’ve become my favourite breed.

I might be getting another cockerel next month and a micro silkied cockerel in August or September. So far this one’s crows are quiet and infrequent. I heard him crow a few times yesterday but not today. I plan on keeping the cockerels indoors and the pullets outdoors except in the winter the pullets would be in the shed with the Cozy coop heater or heating pad.
