I'd like some help sexing these chicks, I've been stressing about this for 2 weeks with varying information on how to sex them. I got these chicks from someone in my county, not a store or hatchery. Said they were Sapphire Gems, they definitely look like them, so I'm not questioning the breed. I know they're supposed to be sexed by barring/white dot [couldn't see, I got them at 3 wks old] beak/feet coloring. This all holds true if they're first generation. I don't know if they are or not, I've asked but haven't gotten an answer back yet. Lighter colored barred appearing one has some dark on the beak and a light splash of black on the feet. Really hoping it's not a roo because it's so incredibly sweet. Here's pictures I have from 2 weeks ago and today, what sex do you think they are?

The lighter one is indeed a Sapphire Gem and appears to be a cockerel assuming it's first generation. The other is too young to sex but looks to be a Blue Wyandotte (or a mixed breed) instead
I was thinking the coloring looked to be a rooster on the light grey...I just got a message back from him [lovely timing lol] He did say he bred them himself so they are not first gen. He sent me a list of the breeds he had, they were "sapphire gem, black astralorps, black star, there also some that are white with black spots ,but I don’t know there breed." So that chick may be a cross between those breeds. I did see some pictures of darker SGs that looked like the dark chick, black splashes on the beak/feet and no crest.
