I know that shipped eggs get handled roughly and that the hatch rate is not expected to be great. But what is the " expected" rate of hatch. Out of 12 one time I got 11,another time I got three and another I got one. Is that abnormal or about right. Does the distance have much to do with it or does the way they are packaged have more?

HI,
I think it is all of the above..................
Do not think it is distance because I have received many eggs from the east coast....some do great. others a wash..........
I have some set now from Mass......no broken air cells?????????wrapped the way I receive most of my eggs.
Weird, really think it is the handling by the PO..........

Although I did read a post a long time ago that a lady ordered quail eggs off of ebay.
and the seller mailed them in a large envelope..............

Sorry, not funny to the lady that received them.
It is just a gamble...but fun
