one day i went to let out my chickens and i found a dead bird behind the feeder door closed & locked when it happened

Maybe it was sick. It could of dropped dead from an illness. It's not necessarily a predator.

Did the chicken have plenty of water, food, and shade? Does its body look completely healthy? Is it a young bird?

It is possible it was something internal. It doesn't sound at all like a predator got to it.

chickens can hide almost every health concern they have. If it was a predator, there would be SOME sign. Feathers scattered around, some type of wound, feeders knocked over, etc.
