Silkie thread!

I have a 18-20 week old silkie hen named daisy. Today I noticed she had dug into the dirt like a nest. She is pretty skittish but when I came close to her she didn't move. And when she did she went back to the same spot right away. Do you think she's close to laying? Or that's what she's trying to do?

I would say she's dust bathing. They don't lay till 6 months and older

So yes they can!

I thought I'd share some photos. This is Morocco. She's only 6 weeks old but has a huge "puff" (crest) already. I'm so excited to see how she turns out.

I think her siblings are jealous.
