I think there are tons of Silkie threads on the forum, but you can see some on my website. I had to get rid of most of mine. Here's a few I got to keep:

Happy New Year!!, Mud, mud, and more mud Used two bales of straw in two coops today. The silkies are so dirty it's not funny. No more pictures till I can clean them up again. In the meantime my new hatches are doing great. I have chicks if anyone is interested. 5.00 straight run. I'll get pics of new hatches tomorrow..

This is my Silkie, Daisy. She’s 4 or 5 months old and so cute. She’s the only Silkie or bantam that I have and my other 5 standard-sized pullets of different breeds aren’t very nice to her. She’s definitely on the lowest rung of my flock’s pecking order and as a result she’s very shy with chickens and people.

It’s been my experience that silkies are like ducks. They might survive without another bird like them, but they won’t thrive. Have you considered a little friend for her?

Silkies do best with other silkies or silkie crosses it seems. Their brains are wired differently.

Even my silkie x ameraucana and EE pullets act like silkies, not like their mothers. Very different personalities. The EE pullets that were silkie raised still act like EEs.
