Very wet day recently and Miss Piggy got soaked. Don't worry, she got dried off and is fine. Silly thing has a cosy coop and a dry area in the run covered by a gazebo but still insisted on going in the rain.

For sure. Love love love the showgirls. On my bucket list when I have an open coop. But if I’m being realistic- we all know I’ll have to build a new one. Who even evens up with an open coop?! Not me?!

Do you, or someone you know, have a sweet-natured black Silkie lady looking to spend the rest of her life living in the lap of luxury? Due to the recent demise of Herman the House Rooster (RIP sweet Herman,) The Melancholy Rooster (@MROO) has an immediate opening for a SILKIE LAP CHICKEN. The ideal candidate will be an older, black Silkie female. Must be soft, friendly and willing to be held and/or petted. Good people skills are a must!

Benefits include:

Duties include:
Travel to classrooms, fairs and retirement homes as part of a breed conservation program.

First time silkie owner. “She” is 10 weeks old. Any ideas on gender? Might need to get a few more to keep her company. As of now she has some polish chicks with her. She is the shyest since day one and doesn’t let me get close.
