Can't really tell by the comb size at this point..but color ... Do you see a lot of purple in that comb?

I bought a new pullet. She's a paint polkie! She's quite skittish but she needs time to adjust. Already seems more relaxed this morning

..that was 2 days ago, now we've had rain and rain and more rain! Most stay in the coop but a few are silly enough to stay out and get soaked even though I have some shelter areas around the place they could get out of the rain. I think the chickens have had enough of the rain, thankfully it's summer here, but I'll need to plan to construct some sort of run cover for winter - I've tried tarps but they rip / get holes and don't last long.

How many boys do you have now?
Well... if Barney (silkie) is male, then 2.. just him and Fred (Polish), plus 8 females.. but the run is 4m x 2m only. Not sure if thats enough. I am going to add one, maybe 2, perches in the run so the flyers (D'uccles and Polish) have somewhere to fly to. That will lesson the numbers on the ground.
