Snow life in Southern Minnesota

It's my first winter keeping my girls. They seem to be holding up quite well. Soap (the lavender cochin) doesn't mind the snow but Oedipus (the blue cochin) and Distortion (the partridge cochin in the back) are very offended by it. They love to sit up on their little tree branch and complain.

Soap's my only girl laying eggs so far. She gave us a double yolker yesterday! It looks like Oedi and Tori might hold out until it's warmer, but that's what we thought about Soap as well. I guess we'll have to see.

We're still planning on switching out the prefab coop after the holidays for a homemade one to give the girls a bit more room, but we'll have to see.

Right now the girls are enjoying throwing around their new straw I put down, especially after I threw some treats in there for them. Life could be harder for a chicken.
