Something is blocking chicks vent. Help!

Do not pull it or clean it. You have 2 posts. It's the umbilical area, if you mess with it the chick will die!

Looks like dried poop. Warm water and multiple q tips will do the trick!

Turns out it is the umbilical area. Not poop.

i had this - hold the chick in lukewarm water and as the other poster has said use a q-tip to gentle wipe - if you do nothing the chick will die as it will become impacted and eventually be poisoned by its waste. i had to clean my little one every day sometimes twice a day and after 4 days was fine, then it happened again she is now 4.5 weeks and is doing great. also plain natural yogurt is good for the gut and egg yolk for nutrients
