Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

With winter here and temps below zero my ponds and kid pools were put away for winter and heated water buckets brought out
I have had ducks for 2.5 years and use heated water buckets in winter never had a duck climb in
This summer I got some ancona ducklings born early may
This one ( cinnamon) has decided the water buckets are her personal hot tub 😂
Looks like I will be adding wood to the tops to prevent this
I swear with ducks the projects never end

My girls food bucket is a tiny bit smaller than that, one morning I put it on their coop while filling their water buckets..
Sprightly was impatient, flew up to get the food bucket, landed in the bucket and got stuck. Suffice to say her mission had not gone to plan.
Looked a lot like that photo, I don't think I've ever laughed so much

They sure are silly
Never a full moment

Do y'all have any tips for getting ducks to go to a pond?

I've got 18 rouen ducks, and we have a big pond behind our house but I just can't get them to go in it!! I've tried leading them with food, I've tried putting them in the pond, but they just turn around and go right back to the house.

Any help appreciated!

Ducks don’t like new things and often can take time to adjust
This could take days to weeks or longer
Try sitting down there and shaking treats everyday
Don’t force them in but let them slowly do it on their own
They will eventually see it’s safe
Only takes one and the rest will follow
