I use leaves in my duck's enclosure. They love to play in them and it saves on hay. I put the leaves down on the floor and then put a light layer of hay. If I don't use leaves I have to use a lot more hay.

Why is it that when you talk to a relative you haven't talked to in months and knows nothing about ducks will immediately send an article about how family raised poultry cause a big increase in cases of salmonella? According to her I should not let the little cuties sit on my lap or whatever. It isn't like I'm going to ask her to do that, or even give her any eggs!!! They don't even come to visit.
After all, doesn't she know what soap and water is for?
Sorry, I am just venting. Will add an article about the three new rescues I adopted a couple days ago. Phooey on relatives that never visit anyway!
