We had a sexlink hatch ducks out like 9 years ago

Ya I've had hens hatch ducklings then they panic when they take to water.
But the opposite it worse when the duck tries to get her chicks into water.

So do they automatically know about water? If I toss them into a bathtub will they float

Yes they do and yes they will.
"Like a duck takes to water"
When I had my first hen with ducklings they were free ranging. Every time they came upon any water the ducklings would run and hop in then the hen would frantically circle it screaming in a panic to them.
Of course they never cared.

Well, lockdown for the eggs in my incubator

Though in the meantime I bought 2 chicks today. 1 New Hampshire Red and 1 Golden Sex Link. The one with more red on her back I named Rosie and the other Ruby.
