What was the original cross that got you started to get you to this bird and are those pullets related to the Cockerel? It was Andalusian x what?

They're all related in one way or another because I started with just one Andalusion hen.
I bred her with a silver duckwing rooster. Two years later I bred her with a barred rooster so ive had two separate projects going for a few.

How do you tell apart these lighter blues from the splashes?

How do you tell apart these lighter blues from the splashes?

Because so far I've only kept the ones with blue and bred back to non blue leghorns. No blue to blue so I can't get splash.

Everyone seems to like Virginia......I've been planning to set up camp in Maine, but the winter is so long that I'd have to get so much hay for cows, sheep, etc

I always planned on wither Nevada or Arizona. Somewhere hot that never has snow (Yes I know the northern parts still have some snow). Now I'm thinking Washington (state, not DC) might not be too bad

I love the snow, and I've never really been down south. I don't want to be toooo far out in the middle of nowhere, but 100 acres of nice, rural land is what I'm going for.
