I don't buy into that theory.

I agree cos I haven't got any darker blues from the ones from my black rooster.... I get various shades of blue from both groups

It's a known fact over here around the show circuit.
But ya it's known from being passed down from the older people to the younger ones and on and on.
Never proved true from my breedings either.

It could just be my birds...most of my blues seem to be quite light colored. Some chicks start out looking darker but feather out all the same
