The part I don't understand is how to put together a consistently lower temperature and the fact that 3 of the ducklings hatched (two good, one not) even before the regular date.
Just like human babies, sometimes some are early and some are late. My guess is that there are hot spots and cold spots in the incubator.

You can have a warmer part of an incubator and a part that is not quite as warm. That is why they can hatch at different times, all in the same incubator. Sorry, I did not see the above post saying the same thing.

My friend these are duxlings - not CPUs! 🤣
Those 28 days is just an average and some duxlings are in a hurry while some other's are relaxed.
