We went for a long time with no problems, but once the first attack happened we had to take preventive tactics.

Once I wiped out the flying ants I have not had a problem with ants in the house since. It was only one mound that was the problem. They would come down the chimney and in through the wood stove. That was probably 30 years ago.

They are fantastic on grasshoppers. There are no ants in my guinea's pen. I do have 4 poults that need a new home.

You can cook and eat them just like you can a turkey. The feathers can be sold.

The neighbors down the road from me had peafowl. I never heard them. The people living on the next road to the south of me had no trouble hearing my guineas and they were 1/2 mile away.

Try buying a heritage turkey to eat. It isn't cheap.
