Jeffery is my Royal Palm tom. However, he has always had a bump under his eye. A gentleman had told me how to cure it, but said that it was very costly and would continue to come back. So, we decided to leave Jeffery be because treating it would be more stressful to him than just letting him roam around as he always has.
His bump looks exactly like this (excluding the bump on the pictured turkey's head): http://backyardchickens.yuku.com/topic/12129#.U8xvHfldUf0
Should I show Jeffery or just leave him home? The entry fee is only a dollar and he would most likely be the only "Old Tom" there (so I would be making money on his entry fee). I've shown him before with him taking 2nd (of course, out of two entered) so it was not a disqualification (I don't believe). He has also rubbed off all of the tops of his tail feathers (being free ranged doesn't stop him from following his girls near trees, around gates and any other abrasive object not made for rubbing tail feathers on).
I just want to know what everyone thinks about taking a turkey in this condition. If money is not an issue, would you do it or not? He has an excellent body for a Royal Palm, but just has those two problems.
