I don't think enough individuals have one in the yard to give a proper answer to your question.
But just thinking logically, due to its unpredictable movement, I think it would be far more effective than hanging C d's or dangly streamers around the yard.

I'm curious about this too. I'd love to try it too since we also have a hawk problem. My biggest concern is that it might stress out my sheep who are very skittish about sudden movements.

it would likely work, as it's sudden movement. Your hydro bill might get high tho running that fan all day. I agree though, it might not work with your sheep closely. Our sheep are skittish and I think it would freak them out.

I wonder if I could hook it up to a solar panel to run it.....

its not like I know how to even do that but....everything is figure-out-able

I wonder this about a lot of the stuff we use as deterrents.

My chickens have gotten used to noise, ex. side by side, table saw, nail pounding, screw driving, tractor, etc. The hawks and three juvenile eagles, as well as the chickens, don’t seem to mind a bit!

Maybe the chickens get used to it because they are forced to live there all the time, so they soon learn that it does not harm them.

The hawks can choose to hunt somewhere else, instead of staying around to see whether the weird thing is actually dangerous or not.
