Silver/blue LF Cochin

What’s the sex based off of facial features??

Age? Almost certainly a male, but I only deal with bantam cochins, not large fowl cochins

Also isn't silver or likely blue. Looks like a lavender

Oh. Hmm…it’s Hoover hatchery line. Thought they classified that color as silver or blue for them.

Did they call it Self Blue? That's another name for lavender but it is not actually blue

If this is supposed to just be a guess, I would instinctively say male, but I’ve also had some hens who, based on their comb, would certainly appear to be roosters. I have no clue though just based on the face.

Yes over a year now. Has recently changed.

Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you.

It's a hen. BUT she's quit laying over late summer & really gotten that male look now; I want to say it's after her heavy molt. I'm thinking she has a hormone problem as I've read about.
She's on borrowed time as so far we are going on over 2 weeks of monitoring her & have not received any eggs which is proving my assumptions.

Last years genetic line of Lavender/Blue/Silver from Hoover's Hatchery was not good, IMO. I have 3 that color, all are way smaller than their sisters of various colors. Almost like they're bantam genes.
