What did you do in the garden today?

at my grandparent's times people used to put some rusty nails in chicken waterers. it was to prevent some disease. btw they didn't put fresh water every day. when I mentioned it a few years ago here on byc I got bombed.

I give fresh water daily in summer. Not in winter.

I have 14.

This is because there was no butternut pollen. It was fertilized by the wrong pollen group. Your summer squash peppo group. Another butternut may have viable seeds.

Interesting. The other three I've opened up were the same. Still have two left. Maybe I'll hit the jackpot with one of them.

Laid out the first draft of the spring garden...

Now I just have to get THREE 2 ft W x 10 ft L x 32" D raised, self watering beds put together by mid-March.

I've decided to try growing fodder for my girls. It's way too early to plant seeds for my garden, but I've got the January stir- crazies. If I don't have a project soon, I can't be held accountable

I'm building shelves for my studio for that very reason.
It's also how the bathroom got remodeled.

Oh anyone who needs to know, I got wind that JoAnn Fabric maybe headed into Chapter 11.
We had the one in Grand Island close altogether last year.
The one here in Lincoln is looking sparse, but I don't know about Omaha.

I must be above average on this too.
I probably have 30+ house plants right now.

In my defense, some are plumeria and adenium. They are dormant right now and go outside in spring.
So they don't count.

A few are cuttings I rooted so they only count as 1/2 a plant.

Cuttings not rooted yet of course don't count.

So instead of 30+ I really only have about 12-14.

I guess I should get a house plant or two. I have a big south facing window in the living room that would be a good place for some greenery.

I put some soil in seedling trays and small pots before this cold spell. They are covered on my plant light stand. Fresh seed in the kitchen.
I am ready! Indoor gardening. lol

South window sounds like a good spot for some greenery. Cheerful on these winter days when there is little or no gardening to do.

Im eating dill from my aerogarden! Made hubs bring in the block of potting soil so i can transplant the dill by the time the dirt thaws out.
i got a couple of planters from dollar tree. They're stackable and look like a Y, for lack of a better descriptor. I dont have a pic available. I just hope i dont kill it. Thats my usual MO tho, sadly.
suggestions on not killing my dill?
