What did you do in the garden today?

Borage...I've never grown it but bought some to try. Is it as bad as mint? LOL. Would it do good in a border, one side against chicken fence & the other side lawn that will just get mowed over if it creeps? Or bad idea?
It's easy to rip up if it self sows. Mine never has, I have to replant it every Spring.

I redid a flower bed today.

The current bed had two Rose of Sharon trees for 15 years. They both died so I am trying to replace the shade they provided on the porch. I bought a clematis.

Start picture, you can see the stumps from one of the trees. The others rotted.

I took out the old edging, loosened the soil, and began laying blocks.

Once the blocks were in place I added two cartloads full of compost and dirt.

I love my Gorilla cart!

I attached the cattle panel trellis to the porch railing, am done for the day. Whew.

Next I'll work in some peat moss, and then plant. The clematis will be in the back, with bugleweed planted around the base to help keep the clematis roots cool. Then I will add annuals, probably a lantana, some bidens, and my favorite, petite marigolds.

Decisions, decisions...

Mine too 1 whole drawer for sox? And the shoes! he used to be a shoe salesman, he complains about my Birks? I've scored quite a few on ebay.
He brought a gun one time and dared to complain about my shoes I told my shoes cost 1/4 of what he paid and I wear/ use them everyday " will you use gun every day?" A big fat NO! . He's never complained since.... just teased me. :gig:rant
I'm the one who wants to spend too much money on guns in our house... I really want a Marlin SBL 336. I'd ride around the property up on Chex (our family's pretty paint) with it strapped to my back, put my Mossberg 308 long rifle in the saddle bag holster, revolver in a chest holster and look like a baddie. 🤣

I got some work done in the garden. Enough to probably give me a sore back.
:thumbsup

The chickens got a couple buckets of weeds, and 3 buckets of grass roots got dumped in the woods.
Same here, thank goodness for ibuprofen and tylenol. I finally got the giant fennel rousted out of one of the raised beds, it could have stayed if it didn't keep trying to take over every year. If only the dill grew as well.

Time to buy enough asparagus to pickle and can, I bought some fancy tall jars last spring to make it extra pretty so it's time to get going.
