Production Red hen. I don't see what makes it a rooster. Production Reds, along with being a more dull orangey color like that, often can have larger combs than normal since they're not bred for appearance.

X2. It's not a rooster, as roosters have saddle feathers and this bird doesn't.

How do I keep my chickens water from not freeze over night

There are heated waterers out there, or you can keep the water in a warmer location if possible. Honestly I just pour hot water over the exposed bodies of water and it does the trick for the morning/day. It makes for a daily job anytime the nights get that cold, but I guess out here it works since I don't have crazy cold winters.
