What made you happy today?

We talked about making this closet into a pantry ever since we moved in 30 years ago. Last fall, hubby did.

It's against an outside wall, and this room gets cold, so nothing that can freeze is stored here.
The canned tomatoes and anything else that shouldn't freeze is in the basement. We're finally making the area under the basement steps into a pantry too.

30 years... at least we didn't rush into it. :lau
I don't see any grits. They must be out on the counter. 🤔

Be careful stacking those jars. You might not see if one has a bad seal because it's weighed down by another jar and when you go to open it, it's all mold. I've even had one become unsealed because of the one stacked on top of it

it looks like they are all on individual shelves with no stacking to me...

I've never canned, but I have READ that if one removes the ring then a broken seal becomes more apparent.
