Hi there,
So I have 5 7 week ole baby (ish) chicks. Two roos and three pullets, I was just wondering at what age is it ok to begin putiing them in with the rest of my flock? Thanks in advance!

My experience was to put them in a pen that portects them but allows the older chickens to check them out through the wire. Once the older ones don't pay attention to them I have added them at night onto thre roost and then watched them carefully the next morning for any signs of major fighting. Three will be an adjustment period in which they will readjust the pecking order. You'll just have to watch and make sure they are not getting beat up or remove them and try in another week. I ususally start this around 8 weeks of age. Hope this helps

Thank you so very much! I am very excited to move them in with the others. Will it help that my girls all free range, that way they have more space? Also that means for the most part the coop is empty durring the day other than when the ladies come in to lay.
