She is a Speckled Sussex, 8 months old, healthy and clucking around but has this dirty butt. I think she is laying (I have seven hens and often get 6 eggs) but its hard to know as she lives with six others and for whatever reason and despite having several laying boxes they all lay in one nest.
The thing that worries me is the area under her vent is firm and hard almost as if she has a stuck egg. But this is has been going on for months with nothing else to show for herself. The stuck poop is often very white but not always. Like I said, she does her own thing, isn't intimidated by the others, is out eating worms and other things....just this. What do you think?
