This article is such a well-written, honest, and informative resource about something we all fear. Most of all, it leaves the reader with hope and not in a state of doom and gloom. Thank you!

Thank you Rebel. I did the article hoping that I could show people dealing with Marek's disease in their flock that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I love this upcycled brooder! The different sections are great. It would have been nice to see it in use and hear how you found its functionality. Also, did you end up getting its wheels on make it mobile or make any other modifications?

Love seeing upcycled stuff! I really like that you have hardware mesh on the side of the brooder too so the chicks can see the world around them, not just experience terrifying things coming from above.

Love all the photos. I like that you had a list of supplies with what it cost you included and that you said what you would change. Great use of space overall. Dimensions would be great to have as well.

I love the upcycling ideas of old furniture! I agree with the heat plate vs light as well. I would also like to see pictures of it in use and an update about how you found the functionality of it!

budget friendly, quick and easy feeder. But agree with @3KillerBs, my girls would have that on it's side and food dumped out in seconds.

If more photos of the build were included, this would be more helpful. Also, it would just be nice to see the brooder in use along with information about how you found its functionality after using it!
This is such a popular question in the forum. A good general guide for the breeds listed, but pictures of each breed and photos of their eggs would be helpful as well.

This was very enlightening and encouraging! Next month we get our first batch of meat birds and all I had heard was pretty much everything negative described in your list at the top of the article. I have been determined to have my meaties short life be different and I am so glad I found your article! I love that you treated them like any other chicken until their processing day. The tips on feeding were helpful as well. I can't wait to see my foraging around the yard!

This was such great information and gave me the confidence to build a brooder near my coop and run and boot my new littles out around 2 weeks old. I can't believe how well they are thriving. They instantly loved it. I will never raise chicks in the house again after this. Thanks for a great article!

This is my dream coop.
When I had drawn out what I wanted in a coop bigger coop I very shortly afterwards came across this article. It really helped me work out the kinks in my own design. Very informative with plenty of details and pictures along the way. I keep referencing this coop when thinking of my own and have showed it to my husband to help him see what I want. I’m sure I’ll visit this article many more times before my own dream coop becomes a reality. Thanks @DobieLover

I currently only have Easter Eggers but I would say this list is fairly accurate and most of them are on my ‘wish list’ with the exception of a couple. Can’t wait for that bigger coop!
