Welcome. We got chickens this past Easter on a whim and didnt know a thing about raising them. This website helped me greatly and my birds are all doing well. And I agree, they are pets to us. Each have their own distinct behavior.

Thank y'all for the replies! This is really helpful. Ridgerunner, to answer your question about where do they sleep now, I'd say sometimes they roost and sometimes they are in the corner on the coop floor. Honestly I'll have to pay more attention to that as I don't bother them much at night...
