The Watervale is a heavy breed of duck originating from Australia. The breed was developed by Mr Holder in the 1980’s from Cayuga stock in Watervale, South Australia. The Watervale should be the same size and type as a Cayuga, and in the case of a lack of genetic diversity can be bred back to a Cayuga.
Watervales are only available in Australia, and are recognised in the Australian Poultry Standards 2nd Edition. To read up more on the breeds standard you can search up Open Poultry Standards.
