Hey y'all!

Back in June I posted asking if our 5 week old GLW was a pullet or or a cockerel (the general consensus was cockerel). Well he/she is 12 weeks now and I was hoping to get some more input as to what the gender is and why? We are new to chickens so if anyone could explain why they think it is a he or she, that would be great! I want to learn as much about them as possible. We are excited to have her/he either way - - I'm just curious is all. Thank you!!

Definitely a pullet!

Thanks so much everyone!! Can anyone give me reasons or the “signs” that point to her being a pullet? I’m trying to learn more about what traits to look for in chickens going forward because I’m having such a hard time distinguishing and understanding the telltale signs and differences in young chickens. Thank you all again! :love:thumbsup

I agree she is a beautiful pullet. Signs are pale comb, small comb and waddles. A young roo would normally have a redder comb at 12 weeks. Saddle feathers would be pointy, you may not see them yet at this age. With laced pattern coloring feathers can sometimes look pointy, but it is a trick of the eye. Your beauty has rounded feathers if you look closely.:)
