We have nine hens in a fully enclosed coop and run. One of our Ameraucanas has recently gotten bald spots around her face and on her head. She seems to be shaking her head sometimes, too (I'm not sure if she's doing that more than usual or if I'm just paying closer attention).
I picked her up and looked through her feathers and at the bald spots and I don't see anything that (to my untrained eye) appears to be a parasite/mites. She still seems to be laying regularly, although she does seem a little more skittish. I haven't noticed feather loss or abnormal behavior in any of the other hens.
I've attached a few pictures that show the bald spots. Any ideas what this could be? Or anything I should check for that may help provide a more conclusive answer? Thanks for any help you can provide, I want to make sure my girls are okay!
