Any Home Bakers Here?

Sorry to just jump in here, but my kids are baking today. They're grinding walnuts & noticing some of them have a bit of a slight orange tint to them. Its a brand new bag from Costco. We buy a lot of nuts from there, but never seen this before.

Does anybody know what this is or maybe seen this before. They look fine otherwise & taste fine....
I know this seems weird, but did you take a picture of the walnuts? Just curious...
 
Has everyone done or doing their Christmas baking? I'm doing sourdough goodies. Making sourdough fruitcake tomorrow. Made other goodies today but the fruitcake takes 2 hours in the oven. Happy Holidays everyone... :frow:wee:celebrate :jumpy :bun

I made English Toffee and a caramel yesterday. Today I will make truffles and on Christmas eve, asiago bread and German's Chocolate cake.
 
Here’s some orange fragments. The recipe calls for them to be pulverized, that’s why they’re so small. I put a normal walnut next to the orange pieces so you can see the color difference.
