I don’t have any experience feeding it to chicks, but it worked wonders on my sick hen. They love the stuff as well.
For my recipe, I used a high protein scratch from my local mill. It was a mix of pellets and grains. This gave the best of both worlds - it made the grains easy to digest and the mixture didn’t swell or become as mushy as it would’ve been if I’d only used pellets. The pellets gave the vitamins and protein that was unavailable in solely grain form.
Again, though, the grains might not work as well for chicks esp. because of bigger ones such as peas.
