They pretty well stick to shade or part shade most of the summer. They'll redden up by next Spring.

I opened the little pop door on the mini coop today for the 2 chicks I put outside over the weekend. Yesterday afternoon one of them got pecked by a big girl so they're somewhat reluctant to come out.

We had a storm last night and the littles were just inside the door last night at dusk so I was worried they'd be soaked. Both were dry so they have enough sense to get out of the rain at least.

My break is in an hour so I can check on them then.

I put the 5 littles outside yesterday. Today is the warmest over the next 7 so I'll put some cool water in a plant saucer after work today but we're hovering around 100 as our max temps with overnight lows in the 70s and 80s.

Like you're getting right now? Sometimes not until November or December. Sometimes we're wearing shorts for the holidays.
