Lots of birds are migrating. 20 miles south of me, 35 broad wing Hawks showed up.. never seen them around here

We get some goid bird watching in when we fish this time of year. Lots of geese and cormorants, ducks, hawks and cranes too.

We had a pair of owls in that tree last fall/winter during mating season. They were constantly in my yard hunting my quail.

Good morning folks. IM, sorry to read about you owl issue. Hopefully they won't give you any troubles.

The following vine sounds like a great idea. My favourite has always been honeysuckle.

So these are three birds I picked up this weekend.

Sully, the Blue Birchen Marans cockerel. He's around 5 months old.

Mrs Blue, a Blue Copper Marans, and Sully's best friend.

And this is Blossom, the 55 Flowery Hen, friends and roost mates with the others.

Hi John, thanks for sharing :) How old is your Nn? Looks like a pullet so far. I really like this color.

Everyone got an afternoon snack of wet meatbird crumble cut with some scratch and a little Poultry Cell today.

The littles were hanging out in the big coop with me while I cleaned. I noticed some red leakage on one of the Dorking mixes, will capture it and get a pic later in the week. The oldest white chick is still very human friendly. She let me pick me her up and put her on the roost and then a few others flew up there to check it out. They figured out how to come down the ramp when they were done. I'm hoping to move them into the big coop by the end of the month at the latest.

We're up to five layers now although not consistently.

Went to lock up last night. 5/7 chicks were roosting on the little shade thing in the yard. The white ones of course, so they stuck out like sore thumbs. The EE cockerel was in the mini coop where he belongs and one Dorking was running around lost and alone.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up 2 Nn cockerels and a couple green eggs to hatch. @BlueBaby has a handsome new roo with lots of color and a bowtie rather than a bib. Will be different parents than the white chicks I have now.

Should be getting 25 shipped eggs soon, provided planetary alignment is in my favor

They'll be Turken mixes, will post details when I get them.

I really need some wing bands so I can keep everyone straight if my hatches go well!

The mother of the green egg's is a NN/CCLB cross that has a bib. She's white with a few scattered black feather's on her back.
