Is there an actual lump, or is that just her feathers? What does the lump feel/look like? Is she just sitting there, or straining, like to lay an egg?

She hasn't hatched any chicks recently has she? The only time I've ever seen a hump like that, it was when a baby chick crawled up there in momma's feathers.I'm bringing her in the house and getting the water ready now

We've got her in a water filled plastic bin. I'll try to feelIs there an actual lump, or is that just her feathers? What does the lump feel/look like? Is she just sitting there, or straining, like to lay an egg?
A stuck egg wouldn't make a hump on her back though. I mean, good thing you're checking for that though.I tried feeling her vent for a stuck egg but I don't really know what I'm feeling for exactly.
She’s a Prairie Bluebell Egger. About a year old. She usually lays either every other day or sometimes every day. Big ones. We haven’t gotten many PBB Egger eggs lately, only one yesterday. It might not have been hers since we have two of that breed.Your hen clearly isn't feeling good, which accounts for her just standing there with her tail down. How old is she, and what breed? When did she lay her last egg, if you know?
Can you feel an actual lump on her back? If you have calcium citrate pills, the human ones, I would give her one, just in case she is egg bound. It won't hurt her if she's not. Has she been acting normal the past few days? She’s a Prairie Bluebell Egger. About a year old. She usually lays either every other day or sometimes every day. Big ones. She's out of the bath and we're drying her off. I'll feel the lump (?) when she's outCan you feel an actual lump on her back?
