How to keep my ducks safe?

I've got 3 1 month old ducks and I'm wanting to turn them out on my big pond in the field, but I know something will get them as soon as I do and of course I don't want that. My Dad said if there was an island in the middle of the pond that nothing but them could get on at night that they should be fine. But there isn't no island.

So do you all have any ideas on how I can keep them safe at night?

I was wondering about this as well. Are ducks like chickens, will they return to a pen at night? My hubby dug me a duck pond, so I want to know the same things.

My ducks go inside the coop with the chickens at night. They heard just like the chickens do. Good luck!
