Humming hen--whats up?

I uploaded a video of her humming, she has been doing this all morning and hasn't made any other sounds.

Whats with her?

Is she sneezing too?? I thought I heard 2 sneezes.

Yeah she only sneezed twice this morning.

Have you brought in any new birds recently???

I had this same type of situation with my flock. Started with the humming and sneezing, then they got runny noses and puffy faces. I brought one to the vet and was told it was Infectious Bronchitis. Have you looked closely for a runny nose? Sometimes its hard to see, all of mine that were sick had clear discharge from the nostrils.

I would quarantine her just in case, if she does have something, you don't want it to spread to the rest of your flock. Respiratory illnesses can spread very quickly. You can do a search on here for respiratory illnesses and see if any of the threads help you at all. Hopefully its nothing major, but I would still quarantine to be safe.

I ended up giving my sick ones Tylan 50 injections and it seemed to clear what they had up. I now have a closed flock, no one in, no one out, because of this.

I haven't gotten any new chickens and my neighbors don't have any chickens so it can't be from that.

She does not have a runny nose, but she is still humming.

Maybe she is trying to work out a little routine to impress the helicoptors and inspectors!

I gave her some electrolytes and she is fine now, no humming or sneezing.
I guess she had a cold.

Maybe she was humming cuz she couldn't remember the words to a song?
