Once I get a bigger coop I’ll clean once a month. Right now I have to clean weekly because it’s tiny and I don’t want ammonia build up.

I do a deep cleaning with the change in seasons so 3-4 times a year. I have poop boards though that I scoop 2-3 times a week as it just takes 5 minutes.

I had planned a full clean recently. Used a bow rake and got down to the really compacted stuff. Said "good enough" and put down some fresh flakes. Will try the full clean again in September.

My coop floor bedding only needs changing 2x per year. I use a "poop hammock" under the roosts, so I just have to pull that out and hose it off once a week. There's virtually no poop on the coop floor because of that. Feed and water are in the run, so no spills.

We do not currently have poop boards so I spend about 15 min. daily to scoop the poop. I add more shavings when needed and completely change out the bedding twice a year. Our new larger coop will have poop boards so scooping should take even less time.
