Thought this was pretty cool, this is an egg that pipped but didn’t hatch, I cut into the air cell and you can see both the internal pip and where his egg tooth hit the shell cracking it externally. Not sure why he got this far and expired but that’s life and hatching. The next picture is him out of the shell.

The yolk sac is visible just under his right foot.

Dead things are really easy to photograph for some reason;) I tried taking a picture of a month old bird this morning and by the time the shutter actually clicked I got a great shot of the water bottle with no bird to be seen!
