Tolbunt Polish Chicks

I hatched these from shipped eggs from a breeder… how do they look? I’ve tried looking up pictures of Tolbunt chicks but they are all so different and. Ones coloring looks quite a but different than the others. I’ve never raised polish!

She’s been great to work with. I had a rough shipment which I knew was a gamble but my daughter had her heart set on polish hatching eggs for her birthday so I decided to go all out and go for Tolbunt! I had less than 50% hatch so she’s sending me another dozen for shipping only. I’ve been burnt by “quality breeders” before so I’m hoping this time is different!

They look good to me! I just hatched a bunch of Tolbunts and yours look similar to mine Some recent ones at 2 weeks and the group shot at about 3 days old

I've never raised Polish either

It's hard to tell colors under the red heat lamp, but based on the colors Polish usually come in, I would guess the pale chicks to be White or possibly White Laced Buff. I would expect Tolbunt chicks to look more like the dark ones.

But that's a guess, and I really do not know for sure.

(I'm going off what I've read, that Tolbunt is genetically the same as Gold Laced, but with the mottling gene to add white tips to the feathers. If that is so, the chicks should look similar to Gold Laced Polish chicks.)

They are certainly cute chicks, and I'd love to see how they look as they grow up

Ahhhh looks like you have frizzled too!! Thank you so much for sharing your photos! I’ll probably ask for me as they grow! Where did you get your hatching eggs from or did you breed yourself?

Ahhhh looks like you have frizzled too!! Thank you so much for sharing your photos! I’ll probably ask for me as they grow! Where did you get your hatching eggs from or did you breed yourself?

I did get a frizzle! I’m really hoping it’s a girl frizzle so I can keep her :-D I’m more than happy to share more pics I just love their poofy little cheeks and top hat poofs They’re all really mellow too, they don’t panic like some chicks when you hold them.

I got the eggs from a local breeder about 20 mins away who loves Polish and has a bunch of colors! His white ones are beautiful too—wish I had room haha. I had also gotten two Candy Corn eggs but neither of them made it to hatch day sadly. I had 100% hatch rate for the Tolbunts, so I’m hopeful it means they are good strong and healthy babies I definitely think we need more pics of yours without the red light! They’re so adorable at that age
