What did you do with your flock today?

The baby hamburgs are just so adorably cute!

🥰

Merry Christmas everyone!

I tried giving them a head of cabbage a long time ago and they didn't care for it, but it looks like they've been pecking on the leaves a little.

I was thinking about making a feeder out of 1"x1" or 1"x2" galvanized rabbit cage wire and pack it full of cabbage leaves. That would make it easier for them to rip off chunks of cabbage.
The hanger I have is just a long spike that goes through the middle of it and has a chain fastened to the top to hang it from. Would be easy to make.

I didn't see it but my wife did. Our Indio x Aseel rooster got the scare of his life today. He was out scratching around in the butterfly garden when a mockingbird slipped up behind him and scared him out of his wits. He used his long legs to get to the nearby tree that has limbs down close to the ground so he could hide there. Of course then the mockingbird flew to the same tree to investigate what was there. That's when Legs made a panicky rush back to his coop. Had that mockingbird got to close to Honey she would have tried to catch it and eat it. One day Legs will grow up into those long legs of his.

So far just the normal interactions of picking up hens that are underfoot and telling them that they are Queen for the Day after they sing me a little song. It's been raining here steadily all day so I'm mostly enjoying watching them play in the rain scratching through the leaves that have fallen during the last stormy day or two.

Got some fun Christmas chicken presents! 😍 We also finally made a memorial headstone. This time for Aria’s favorite boy Ducky Jr. He never seemed to recover from mites and molting and finally passed on Christmas Eve Eve. 😢 Lots of tears. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas 🎁 ❤️
