We have a large, two year old Buff Rock cross rooster who recently had his first toe amputated following an injury. His surgery was about 10 days ago and he will not walk. He is taking Rimadyl, Tramadol and a second round of Baytril. He is getting physical therapy 3-5 times/day including sling work to encourage him to walk. He shows signs of severe pain that we are now suspecting to be nerve related. We would like to start him on Gabapentin as soon as possible and are waiting to hear back from our vet regarding dosage. Does anyone here have any experience dosing chickens with Gabapentin? What dosage did you use?
