Aww, mine can be the same way. Beautiful flock! Thanks for sharing! 🥰
I see you are in Maine. My cold weather streak is now in it's 4th day and breaking tomorrow. I was worried sick about my flock. Well, that is cold for them. Got down to low teens over night. Mornings were a shock to them - coldest was -2 wind chill. They learned to stay in the run and coop during the cold of morning.

They enjoyed the sunshine most of the day in the 20s; tomorrow they will see sun and 47. That will be a great day for them.

I don't know how you do it with the cold you and your flock get. Have fun and stay warm!

Wow, that must be really cold for Texas! Right now, we've got cold along with snow. Thankfully for my bird's sake, we're not having the cold we're used to. Lately it's been in the 20s during the day, which isn't too bad. Is your birds Australorps or Orpingtons? Just looking at them, I think they can handle a lot colder temps than what you're experiencing. (My Black Orpington hen isn't even acting fased by my temperatures.) I'd just be mindful of the combs, especially the big ones, that nobody is getting frostbite. ;)
