Pullets. That is myth. It's false... Sapphire Gems are NOT an auto- sexing breed, which means you can't tell at hatch by the color, or pattern of the peach fuzz. I would wait until they are around 6 weeks old, and then post them here in this thread. Did you buy them as straight run or pullets?
We will have to keep them anyways until we find out for sure. Keeping my fingers crossed that at least one is a female. Any Roos will get re-home. They are so beautiful tho.Dont call it this early... I had a OE with a very big clear head spot and she lays beautiful olive eggs so I'm glad I didn't jump the gun on declaring her a "he."
There probably pullets... but I'm excited to see what you get... males or females!Pullets.
Hmmm, I read they are sex link and that’s why they could tell at hatching. Oh well time will tell. Am keeping my fingers crossed tho… lolPullets.
Good point, no, not supposed to be.... Came from Privett. But was she supposed to be sex linked?
Headspots don't always me male but it's supposed to on sex linked crosses
Wings don't mean anything.Sorry I should of specified I only took headshot of one chick. The other one has a solid color head. The wing shot is the other chick
Ok thanks!!Wings don't mean anything.
If one has a solid head it's a girl.
The one pictured with the headspot is a male.
