Should we Plant Winter Wheat or Rye?

Granted, I have much better climate (and likely much poorer soils), but I've been planting wheat with winter peas and rape seed to offer variety and improve my soils, since I'm not actually harvesting, just creating an improved pasture for grazing.

If you need a crop out of it, then yes, rotation planting is better then planting triads.

What type wheat would I need? Keep in mind I am NEW and don't garden or plant..

I've been planting "hard" (meaning high protein) winter wheat, based on my zones and growing season. I'm not a green thumb, and can't recommend what works best for you at this time, in your climate.
